COT Welcomes Manuscript SubmissionsÂ
Change Over Time is a semiannual journal publishing original articles on the history, theory, and praxis of conservation and the built environment. Each issue is dedicated to a particular theme as a method to promote critical discourse on contemporary conservation issues from multiple perspectives both within the field and across disciplines. Themes are examined at all scales, from the global and regional to the microscopic and material.
We hope that you have had a wonderful summer and are feeling rejuvenated as we enter the fall. We are excited to announce several positive changes to Change Over Time!Â
COT now publishes pre-prints online. To ensure the timely delivery of new research, COT now posts pre-prints on Project MUSE, our hosting platform, as individual articles are approved for publication. Once all issue articles are finalized, they will be bundled into a journal issue, posted online, and printed.Â
COT now accepts manuscript submissions outside of individual themes. Since its initial publication, Change Over Time has received unsolicited submissions which were beyond the scope of issue themes yet warranted consideration. This change greatly enhances our flexibility to consider worthy submissions that meet the remit of the journal.Â
COT will now be printed in color. The first color issue, 13.1 Asian American Heritage, is due out this fall.Â
COT is participating in Penn Press and Project Muse’s open access initiative. Open access will advance COT’s mission as an international journal and will promote more equitable access to scholarship.
These significant changes will strengthen COT’s ongoing commitment to serve its readers and contributors in the timely publication of valuable scholarship of conservation and the built environment. With our enhanced publishing features and open access, we are excited to reach and serve a wider and more inclusive audience. We look forward to hearing from you!If you are interested in submitting ideas for future issue themes, or have a manuscript you’d like to submit for consideration, please reach out to cot@design.upenn.edu. We would love to hear from you.
Thank you for your ongoing support of COT!
Sincerely,Kecia FongEditor, Change Over Time
