Conference Objective and Philosophical Framework
The International Conference on Sustainable Development is organized by the European Center of Sustainable Development in collaboration with CIT University.
The 14th ICSD 2026 draws inspiration from the pressing challenges of environmental, economic, and socio-cultural sustainability, addressing the needs of present and future generations within a global-scale context.
The Conference venue is:
Roma Eventi, Congress Center, Piazza della Pilotta, 4, Rome, Italy
We are pleased to welcome you to ICSD 2026, held in the very heart of historic Rome.
The venue, Roma Eventi, located within the premises of the Pontifical Gregorian University, at Piazza della Pilotta 4, Rome, Italy, lies just steps from the iconic Trevi Fountain, and within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, Piazza Navona, and the Colosseum.
It is a setting of enduring inspiration – where timeless cultural heritage meets academic thought – an ideal place for global dialogue on sustainable development.
Conference dates: Wednesday, 09 September – Thursday, 10 September 2026
The Conference theme is:
"Creating a unified foundation for the Sustainable Development: research, practice and education".
This theme emphasizes the strong foundation that is provided by using research to inform our everyday practices, policies, and analytical approaches.
The 2026 Conference will once again provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, presentation of research findings, and discussion of professional issues relevant to Sustainability Science.
This initiative will advance through a multidisciplinary approach, integrating diverse fields and perspectives to address the core and interconnected questions of Sustainable Development. It serves as a collaborative platform for scholars, educators, and practitioners from all professional disciplines who share a commitment to sustainability. The focus is on a holistic perspective that embraces the intersection of environmental, cultural, economic, and social dimensions.
We invite you to submit an abstract in the range of the following streams within the ICSD2026 program:
1. ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY:
Financial Sustainability, SMEs, Microfinance, Emerging Economies, International Trade, Circular Economy, Green Financing, Public-Private
Partnerships, Economic Resilience, Sustainable Business Models, and Data-Driven Economic Strategies.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY:
Water and Soil conservation, Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction, Renewable Energy, Food and Environmental Legislation, Biodiversity
Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture, Waste Management, Carbon Neutral Strategies, Urban Ecosystem Restoration, and Mathematical
Modeling for Environmental Challenges.
3. SOCIO-CULTURAL SUSTAINABILITY:
Sustainable Urbanism, Education, Governance, Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Cultural Heritage Preservation, Social Equity,
Community Engagement, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Health and Well-being, Public Health Systems.

Virtual participation is available for those who are unable to attend the conference in person. All conference registrants (online and online poster) can be published in the European Journal of Sustainable Development.
s-architecture is intended for scholars of Architecture (academe, practice, students, and the public).
