Architectural Practice Educators Network (APEN) invites practitioners, academics and educators to attend their inaugural Practice Matters symposium on Thursday 21 November and Friday 22 November 2024 at UNSW.
The symposium will investigate and spotlight the intersection of professional capabilities with the wider architectural curriculum. Innovative pedagogical practices will be celebrated and discussed, alongside identifying opportunities for contemporary architectural education to engage more deeply with the skills and knowledge required to support graduate success in practice. Beyond dedicated architectural practice subjects, the symposium will also present practitioner- and academic educators delivering inventive teaching that responds to ‘real world’ practice and the possible futures for the architectural profession. This event brings together ‘like minds’ to capture knowledge and ideas of professional skills and competencies, to share and discuss these learnings more broadly.
