Your new role
Three exciting opportunities exist for one Associate Professor and two Senior Lecturers/Lecturers to play a significant role in enhancing the capacity of the Architecture discipline in the School of Design and the Built Environment. In your new role, you will be part of a vibrant institution and a dynamic team with a passion for teaching, research, and community engagement. The important work you do will contribute to the overall output of excellence in Teaching and Research in the school.
The successful candidates will be passionate and experienced educators who will have the ability to develop and deliver curriculum in our growing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees and undertake research related to the fields of Digital Design and Design Technologies within the Architecture discipline. This will involve the coordination and/or teaching of units both in person and online. These positions will involve engaging with students, collaborators, and industry partners and developing funding proposals.
Digital Design in Architecture
We are looking for someone who has a strong industry focus and a sound teaching and established research track record in digital design and design research to address future directions of the architectural profession.
Architectural Design Technologies
We are looking for someone who has extensive industry, teaching, and research experience in the construction process of architecture, including materials and building methods, building performance, net zero architecture, and regenerative design.
The school has made significant investments in new advanced technologies to support cutting-edge teaching and research. We also recently undertook comprehensive course reviews to ensure digital technologies underpin our undergraduate and postgraduate Architecture courses.
Our Architecture course is ranked equal fifth nationally, making us one of the top programs in Australia, and 54th in the QS World University Rankings. This success is underpinned by strong partnerships with many design, development, pre-fabrication, and construction companies such as BGC, Hesperia, Fleetwood, Cox, GHD, Hassell, prefabAUS, and others.
We welcome domestic and international applicants. Please note that as these are continuing roles, you will require permanent work rights in Australia, and you must be willing to relocate to Perth, Western Australia. Visa sponsorship and relocation support will be considered.

Essential Criteria:
A doctoral qualification in Architecture or a related discipline.
Proven high-level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching.
A significant contribution to scholarship in teaching and experience in curriculum development and unit/course coordination.
An established record of research outputs/creative works in high-quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline and its practice.
Evidence of an established national reputation and growing international profile and a record of obtaining research income, including nationally/internationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the a
bility to lead major curriculum and/or research initiatives, provide mentoring to less experienced staff, and supervise HDR students.
Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures, and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
